Morocco Royal Tour: Opening Highlights from the 15th Edition in Tétouan
Tétouan, October 1, 2026 – The Morocco Royal Tour officially kicked off its 15th edition this Thursday at the Royal Guard facilities in Tétouan. Following the traditional veterinary inspection that opened the day, riders took to the arena for the first two international classes of the week: the CSI2* 1.25m and the CSI4*-W 1.40m. Under sunny skies, the opening day set the tone for four days of top-level sport in Tétouan, the first of three stops on the 2026 Morocco Royal Tour, ahead of Rabat and El Jadida.
The CSI2* gets the competition underway in Tétouan
The Prix de la Colombe Blanche, the opening 1.25m class of the CSI2*, marked the official start of the sporting action at the 15th edition of the Morocco Royal Tour. The first victory of the week went to Saad Jabri aboard Alouette du Breuil Z, ahead of Inaya Paelinck and Bam’s Girl Z. Yassir Arbain and Tres Chique Van’T Breezerhof Z completed the podium, giving Morocco two places in the Top 3 of the opening class.
67 combinations line up for the Prix Oued Draa
The CSI4*-W action took over later in the day with the 1.40m Prix Oued Draa. No fewer than 67 horse-and-rider combinations lined up for the opening CSI4*-W class in Tétouan. At the end of the class, Ricardo Gil Santos and Gatsby Diamond proved the fastest, securing their first victory of the week. Lorenzo Argentano and Dakota Blue Girl finished second, while Thomas de Wit and Ecuador DW Z completed the podium in third place. “It’s my first time at the Morocco Royal Tour. My horse was in great form and all the conditions were there for everything to go well. I’m very happy.”
