Simon Delestre: Bis Repetita – Morocco in second place
Double double for Simon Delestre who won this same Prix de Dakhla last year and who repeats this victory on Saturday evening in Tetouan with Olga van de Kruisheve. El Ghali Boukaa and his faithful Ugolino du Clos are second.
It is therefore the second victory of the weekend for the French rider with Olga van de Kruisheve, his Belgian mare who never ceases to surprise him: “As I said yesterday, she is a mare on which we have a lot of hopes but until then, if we did not have too many doubts about its capabilities, the speed factor was a parameter that we did not know. Now I see that she is a mare who is very fast on the ground, I can always move forward in the bar and she holds herself. He’s the kind of horse that doesn’t trample or heat up and is therefore faster than the others and you can really push them to the limit.”
El Ghali Boukaa and Ugolino du Clos, the only Moroccan couple in the jump-off, climbed to the second step of the podium with one second slower than the world number 10. The Moroccan Olympic couple once again proved their agility during the first round and their determination during the jump-off where they were very fast and took a good second place.
A massive audience for this last night of competition and who promise to return tomorrow for the Grand Prix of this first stage of the Morocco Royal Tour in Tetouan.
See you tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. for the CSI1* 1m40 Grand Prix and at 5:00 p.m. for the HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Prize, the World Cup Grand Prix at 1m55 counting for the Longines Ranking List.
